EAST Lancashire is a hidden hotbed of political debate, according to the Electoral Commission.
The region has been included in research which shows the country holds 14.5million political conversations every day.
The study showed that whether it's rubbish collection or road works, heated discussions at work and musings with neighbours over the garden fence are a regular fixture of our life.
But despite the feverish dialogue between citizens, most admit they have not shared their strong views with either local councillors or MPs.
Sam Younger, chairman of The Electoral Commission said: "This research shows that political discussion is alive and well, particularly when it comes to the local issues that affect us every day.
"On June 10 individuals can make those conversations they've had over the year count by casting their votes."
