AN amateur theatre group is set to stage a special end-of-season show dedicated to the theatre's most popular variety performances.

Performed by members of Tyldesley Little Theatre, the exciting evening will pay tribute to dramatics shown at the venue since the 1930s.

Entitled, The 2004 Mixed Grill, it will feature the best songs and comedy sketches that the theatre has to offer, including a toe-tapping swing tribute, the revival of classic northern comedy sketches of yesteryear and David Tristram's hilarious one-act comedy, 'Last Tango in Little Grimley'.

Directed by Ian Taylor, the show will be the first of its kind by the theatre since 'Save the last Dance' 11 years ago. His wife, Lisa, will also make her debut directing the 'Little Grimley' play, which focuses on the trials and tribulations of the worst amateur dramatic society in the country.

Hosting 27 enthusiastic performers and the usual hard-working backstage crew, the programme follows the recent successful run of 'The Late Mrs Early'.

It will take place at the Tyldesley Little theatre in Lemon Street between Thursday June 17 and Saturday June 19 with an additional performance on Thursday June 24. Special guests will include 15 visitors from a school in Egebjerg, Denmark.
