AN hilarious comedy with a twist in its tail is the latest show by St Joseph's Players.
From June 8-12 (nightly at 7.30pm) they present Abigail's Party, by Mike Leigh, at St Joseph's Hall, Chapel Street in Leigh.
The story involves surburbanites Laurence and Beverly who are entertaining their new neighbours Angela & Tony, and Susan, whose teenage daughter, Abigail is giving a party at which her mother would be less than welcome.
With growing marital strain, Susan's rising anxiety as to what is happening at her daughter's party, and the tactlessness of various remarks by Beverly and Angela, generate a rising tension which finally snaps!
Tickets are £5 including programme, children 16yrs and under £3-50. Cheese and Wine, Tuesday and Saturday. The play is produced by talented June Lee and the cast of Margaret Hall, David Farrell, Kathryn Chadwick, David Hodgkinson and Pauline Dowsett will keep everyone truly entertained.
