A LITTLE girl who suffers from cerebral palsy will be rubbing shoulders with celebrities from the world of soccer and television this weekend.
Seven-year-old Emily Riley, of Chapeltown Road in Radcliffe, will join the stars at a special event for the Stick n Step charity.
The charity helps children with cerebral palsy, and the event will see actors from Coronation Street take to the pitch at the Village Hotel in Bromborough, The Wirral, on Sunday.
Emily has been attending the twice-weekly sessions at Stick n Step since it opened at the beginning of this year.
Her mum, Karen, said: "Emily has come on brilliantly. The classes are small and the individual attention she gets from the conductors has really helped her develop.
"Family and friends have given us a lot of backing and we just hope that Stick n Step continues to thrive for the children's sake."
The Coronation Street All Stars will play a charity football match at 1pm, before an auction begins at 4pm.
Items have been donated from Liverpool and Everton footballers, and even from Spanish giants Real Madrid.
David Beckham has handed over a signed shirt, and boots have been given by Brazilian star Ronaldo and Liverpool's Michael Owen.
The match is the idea of Sky Sports football commentator Rob Palmer, who is trustee of the charity. His nine-year-old son, Ellis, also benefits from therapy provided by Stick n Step. A decade ago, parents of children with cerebral palsy had to raise up to £10,000 to send each child to Budapest for therapy but now the sessions are offered for free by Stick n Step.
