TOMORROW (Saturday) the Northern semi-final of the Angling Times Van Den Eynde Supercup will be held on Woodland Lakes at Thirsk fished on Skylark, Partridge, Kestral, Curlew and Wagtail Lakes.

Twenty teams of six will be competing for seven places in the grand final to be fished on JCB Lakes in July.

Local club East Lancs have just qualified after defeating Cheshire MG in the second round on Trent and Mersey Canal at Middlewich.

Both scored 14 points, but East Lancs had a better weight of 8-2-11 to 4-4-6 .

Top two individuals fell to East Lancs with Graham Smith 4-2-0 and T. Mac 2-0-12.

There was a downturn in weights in the Thursday evening target match held on Parkers. Top weight fell to Roy Gough 1-4-12. In second place was Paul White with 1-1-15 and third, Chris Hogan 0-8-7.

On Sunday in the Todmorden AS Open held on the Rochdale Canal at Lane Bottom and Dead Length, carp, bream and chub featured in the leading weights.

John Miller (Rochdale Angling Centre) had all three from peg 378 at White House for 17-10-0.

In second place with two carp from peg 408 was Dave Howarth (Rochdale Angling Centre) 15-1-0 and third, A. Shirtcliffe (Tri Cast Rochdale) 14-1-0.

In the Monday Open held on The Bottom Ponds at Pilsworth Fishery, Dave Jowett junior, (Fisherman's Way) had top weight with 33-11-0.

In second place was Daz Shaw (Drennan NW) 24-3-0, third, Alan Read (Fisherman's Way) 20-12-0 and fourth John Holt (East Lancs) with15-11-0.

In the Wednesday Open held on the Match Lake, Dave Jowett junior repeated his success of Monday by taking top weight 23-11-0.

In second place was D. Pollitt (Hirst Tackle) with 22-12-0 and third, Dave Jowett senior (Fishermans Way) with 17-14-0 . Fourth was D. Smith (Fisherman's Way) 14-14-0.

THE club's weekend trip to Dartmouth will be held this Saturday/Sunday, June, 5 & 6 to fish aboard Saltwind.

NEXT club match, the June Cup, will be held on Parkers on Sunday, June 13, draw 9am, fishing 10am to 3pm.

The Thursday evening target match will be held on the same venue, Thursday, June 10, draw time 5 to 5.30pm.

Junior members are welcome to fish these matches as a separate section match.

Nominations are required from members who wish to fish the Division One National on the River Trent on Saturday, July 17.

A twelve man squad plus eight reserves needs to be submitted by June 18.

Those wishing to nominate should submit names to list at Fisherman's Way.

The boundary fence at Parkers has now been completed and shortly will be fitted with a lock to suite the existing club key.
