SHORT of using a particular descriptive vocabulary, I find it difficult to express my anger at the proposals revealed on your front page for Hyndburn and Blackburn merging (LET, May 25), and in fact, I feel like reaching for a very large box of sage and onion.
Just who do these morons think they are? To me, this whole charade is little more than an empire-building exercise, thought up by people trying to justify their jobs, and if they think, for one moment, that the people of Hyndburn are just going to roll over and stick their feet in the air, they're wide of the mark.
I have little doubt that the electorate over here will throw out the Regional question neck and crop, when the vote comes around, and woe betide any politician who tries to sell us down the river.
