TWO hundred men and women tested their strength and stamina in the fifth annual Prestwich Challenge.
The eight-mile off-road obstacle race has grown bigger and better over the years, but certainly no easier!
Individual runners and team entrants set off on the gruelling course from Sedgley Park Rugby Club in Park Lane, Whitefield, and took on a series of natural and man-made obstacles in Philips Park and Prestwich Clough.
First man back for the third year running was Christopher Petch, who completed the course in 1hr 2mins.
The winning team was TTI Group, while three and a half hours later the last of the stragglers rolled over the finish line.
The event is organised by Prestwich Athletics Club and volunteers put in a lot of hard work beforehand clearing the streams and routes through Prestwich Clough.
Money raised from the event will go to the Children's Brain Tumour Research charity.
