A FUN day organised by Victoria Tenants and Residents Association proved to be a huge success.
The group took over Victoria Park, off Bury New Road, Whitefield, and arranged stalls, children's entertainment, raffles, tombolas and food.
The event, held on Bank Holiday Monday, was the first fun day organised by the Tenants and Residents Association (TRA) and helped to bring together the community.
Chairman of the TRA, Garry Page, said: "It was about letting people know who we are and to tell them we are here to help. A lot of people signed up to join the TRA afterwards and everyone had a great time. It was brilliant, better than we could have hoped for."
Special guests for the day were Ivan Lewis MP and MEP Gary Titley, and children's entertainers Uncle Chris and Party Pete kept the youngsters occupied.
There was also a fun run around the park and medals were given out to the winners.
The TRA received funding from Bury CVS, which helped to provide some of the activities.
