NORTH End are to increase adult season ticket prices by around five per cent for the next season but will be offering free entrance to matches for under eights.

There are also price cuts for under 16s.

Prices are the same for OAPs and students and season ticket prices for the car parks have been pegged at last year's rates

PNE chairman Derek Shaw said: "We want to encourage children and families to come to games.

"By making it free for seven year-olds and younger, we are doing our best to make Deepdale an attractive and affordable place for families. The most expensive Under 16s ticket next year will only be £6 and tickets in the family stand for under 16s will be £4. This is a fantastic deal, and I hope it will mean more families coming to games and more children becoming lifelong supporters. The last thing I want to see is children in Preston wearing Man United or Liverpool tops. I want to see North End tops.

"We have had to increase adult season ticket prices by about five per cent and adult matchday prices by £1, but overall, given the big discounts for children, watching North End is probably the best value in the Division. Even with the small increases our prices are very reasonable to my mind.

"The average price of a kids matchday ticket in our Division next year is £9.65 and is £12.08 for OAPs. For adults, even at £17 or £18, our standard match ticket price is amongst the lowest in the division. Fans who followed North End away last year will know this, given the prices they had to pay, even at some of the smaller grounds."
