A DISPUTED piece of land was on the verge of being converted into live-in allotments for hippy families after a reclusive Eccleshill farmer bequeathed part of his estate to travellers.
Lawyers had ruled the bequest would not stand up in court but travellers were considering contesting the will to secure the land.
