FRIENDS and colleagues are mourning the death of a former Prestwich journalist.
Corin Gibson (32) had been a lifelong sufferer of Crohn's disease and died in hospital last week. The cause of his death is not yet known and an inquest will be held.
Corin, who married two years ago and has a daughter, was working as a sub-editor at the Yorkshire Evening Post in Leeds, but had strong connections with the Greater Manchester area.
Former Guide sub-editor Martin Purdy, now the deputy editor of the Oldham Advertiser, paid tribute to Corin. He said: "Corin was the quiet but dependable type and is fondly remembered by all who knew him. There is a very genuine sense of loss."
