COUNCILLORS Vic D'Albert and Roy Walker were understandably upset at the council's decision to resume a weekly collection of grey bins (Guide, May 28). Much of their local election campaign has focused on this issue. Those who engage in political opportunism have no right to accuse others of election "gimmicks". The council has acted because we and many others have brought to their attention the practical day-to-day difficulties facing many residents.
With the weekly collection of grey bins now being restored on a permanent basis, we hope residents will feel able to co-operate with the recycling scheme which is essential to the future well-being of our environment.
