A MAN who tried to butt a police officer during a domestic incident could be facing prison.
Lee Tiernan, 31, of Todmorden Road, Bacup, admitted a charge of affray at Rochdale magistrates court and was remanded on conditional bail while pre-sentence reports are prepared. He will reappear before the Rochdale bench for sentencing on July 1.
Joanne Lovick, prosecuting, said police were called to an incident at the address of Tiernan's ex-partner in Milnrow.
Tiernan was told to calm down but he began to argue with his ex-partner. She was asked to leave the room. The defendant lunged forward and tried to butt a police officer. He also tried to punch him.
