IN reply to Mr Croysdill's letter (Citizen May 25).

As the Government's spin doctor in the North West, it comes as no surprise that at EU Election times (June 10), he resorts to a tactic of trivia (anti EU message in a bottle) by "shooting the messenger" while trying to denigrate anyone who has the audacity to disagree with his Bairite Government policies.

This is a well-worn Stalinist technique used by Socialist parties worldwide, which is intended to divert voters attention away from this Government's incompetent record.

He obviously daren't acknowledge that his New Labour Party is rent asunder with factional in-fighting over the Iraq war, a leadership battle and droves of his MPs in uproar over the splitting up of the UK into regions, the Euro, the £1 billion wasted on a useless Millennium Dome, BSE and many other political fiascos.

Nobody believes one word of what PM Blair says any more as he has lost the trust of the folk who once elected him.
