THE SOUNDS of the Caribbean are set to visit the Fylde coast as one of the UK's most celebrated steelpan bands drops into Blackpool's Houndshill Shopping Centre.

The Birmingham School of Pan will be presenting a host of "sunshine music" numbers at the centre in a bid to "share" their music with the town on Saturday 5th June 2004. Led by Midland's based steelpan supremo, Jamma - three times winner of the UK National Steelpan Soloist Competition - the band have already performed at the Birmingham Symphony Hall and the NEC arena as well as featuring on the BBC's 'Holiday Show'.

Shoppers will be able to see the band performing live inside the main hall from 10am to 4pm.
