HGV driver Phillip Daniels, 51, of Accrington, was today still in Royal Preston Hospital with serious head and arm injuries.
Mr Daniels, of Lime Field Street, was driving a Mercedes tipper truck along Midge Hall Lane, in Leyland, on Thursday when a Rover saloon coming in the opposite direction lost control on a bend and hit him head-on.
The car's driver, Michael Steel, 25, of Ingol, was also taken to the Preston hospital suffering serious face and head injuries.
Passengers Stuart Steele, five, also had serious head injuries and Brandon Spearitt, eight, had slight head injuries while Casandra Spearitt, 11, suffered whip lash, and Debra Steele, 32, had slight injuries.
