RAWTENSTALL were denied a derby victory at Lanehead when league leaders Bacup produced a two-wicket victory in the final over.

John Chapman was the hero as he struck an unebeaten 44, including the winning six, in an innings that lasted only 30 balls.

It completed a fine recovery from 29-5 as sub pro Ian Austin terrorised the Bacup batsmen with 6-62 to add to his earlier 46.

Rawtenstall made a team total of 178 all out, which included another 46 from Peter Hanson, as the dealdy combination of pro Chris Simpson and David Ormerod took four wickets each.

LOWERHOUSE

COLNE gained swift and sweet revenge for their Worsley Cup defeat to Lowerhouse on Saturday with a nine-wicket win at The Horsfield yesterday.

Pro Andre Adams took 5-33 in Lowerhosue's pitiful total of 66, which was easily seen off by Matt Wilson, with 52 not out.

ALVIRO Petersen made his first Lancashire League century for Enfield, but his 104 wasn't enough to prevent defeat to Todmorden.

They reached the target of 193-7 for the loss of just one wicket, Gyan Pandey making 58 not out, Stuart Priestley 74 not out.
