A 21-YEAR-OLD Rawtenstall man has been arrested after a stolen car collided with another vehicle before smashing through the window of a restaurant.
Police said the accident happened at midnight on Saturday on the A6 Garstang Road, Broughton, when a stolen Ford Sierra collided with a Vauxhall Corsa at traffic lights.
As a result of the impact the Vauxhall Corsa overturned and the driver, a 22-year-old from Broughton, sustained serious but not life-threatening injuries.
He was taken to the Royal Preston Hospital for treatment.
Inspector Steve Cope said: "The Sierra collided into the nearby Burlington restaurant, which smashed through the window, showering shattered glass into the premises.
"Fortunately nobody inside the restaurant was injured."
The driver of the Sierra, a 21-year-old from Rawtenstall was charged with the unauthorised taking of a vehicle and traffic offences.
Insp Cope added: "He sustained a number of injuries as did his 21-year-old male passenger, also from Rawtenstall."
