A CHARITY group working to give elderly people some much needed company is calling for extra volunteers.
Contact the Elderly works to help ease the isolation of many elderly people by organising small tea parties once a week in a volunteer's home.
The charity, which has 240 groups nationwide, is appealing for volunteers to create a second group in Bury by hosting a party once a year and driving guests to a host's home one Sunday a month.
The groups, kept small so everyone can chat easily, provide a unique opportunity for companionship and the chance for the guests to make new friends.
