DETECTIVES are hunting three masked men following an armed raid on a Bury post office.
The trio rammed a blue car into the Mile Lane post office and ran into the premises. They got away with a quantity of cash before making their getaway in the same blue Honda Civic vehicle.
Now, police are anxious to talk to anyone who may have witnessed the raid which happened at 5.30pm on Friday.
Police say the newsagent section of the shop was still open but the post office inside the premises was about to close when the raiders struck.
The three men, two armed with machetes, threatened a male staff member who gave them the contents of the till.
It is believed the raiders also took money from a safe. It is not known how much in total was stolen.
All three robbers then escaped in the Honda Civic car which was later found abandoned in Ramsey Grove, Bury. The vehicle had been stolen earlier the same day.
Anyone with information is asked to ring Bury CID on 856 8150.
