BLACKBURN Rovers striker Dwight Yorke is considering making a permanent return to international football.

Trinidad and Tobago coach Bertille St Clair wants Yorke on board when his side face the Dominican Republic in a World Cup qualifier this weekend.

The 32-year-old striker was persuaded to appear in a friendly against Northern Ireland at the weekend and now St Clair hopes to make the arrangement more permanent.

"Dwight and I are supposed to have a meeting to discuss his position with the team," said St Clair.

"The Tobago people wanted to see him play and he came to me and said he would play.

"He came out here and made the people happy, and now we will see what else will take place."

Yorke is likely to leave Rovers this summer after manager Graeme Souness has made it clear that the former Manchester United star is no longer part of his future plans at Ewood Park.
