WITH regard to the resignations of the six councillors, I consider they are being very unfair to the people who elected them.
The people who elected them presumably did so because they (the electors) are supporters of the Labour party. The electors did not vote for independent councillors.
I am not sure what the legal position of the six councillors is, changing their party allegiance a few days after being elected; perhaps the director of legal services of the council may be requested to give a ruling.
