FORMER staff and pupils of a Nelson school have been re-lived happy memories at an open day to celebrate the school's centenary.
Whitefield Infant School, in Norfolk Street, welcomed back more than100 guests who either attended the school as a pupil or worked there.
They flicked through old school records, log books and photographs, some of which were provided by the Lancashire County Museum, and also contributed their memories to a wall hanging being created to commemorate the anniversary.
The school choir sang and there were raffles and games for the children.
To mark the anniversary, pupils visited Nelson and Colne College to record a centenary song on CD, accompanied by music students at the college.
An assembly for current pupils and their parents was also held and attended by the new Mayor of Pendle, Councillor Dorothy Lord.
