THE Northern Daily Telegraph was advising women on how to get a man and then get him down the aisle.
They advised them to get themselves jobs as sales girls, as many post war brides had told the paper they had met their husbands over the counter when they had done the job.
The recommendations had been made after German newspaper, Die Welt, had found that 37 out of 100 brides were sales girls.
