A 47-YEAR-OLD woman died after the motorbike she was travelling on collided with a car on the M60.
The woman, believed to be from Radcliffe, was riding as pillion passenger when she was thrown from the Honda machine as it collided with a Toyota Yaris close to Junction 17, Prestwich, at around 5.15pm on Sunday.
She suffered fatal injuries and was pronounced dead at the scene.
The 34-year-old rider of the bike, from Manchester, was taken to Hope Hospital, Salford, and treated for serious injuries.
Police today described his condition as serious.
The driver of the car, a 25-year-old man from Radcliffe, was not injured in the collision, which is believed to have happened on the clockwise carriageway.
Road closures remained in place on the clockwise M60 for approximately three hours following the accident.
