A HEALTH and safety expert swapped his Caribbean paradise for a fact-finding mission in Bury.
Devnath Roopnarine is chief inspector of the health and safety executive for Trinidad and Tobago. He is studying in the UK for an MSc in occupational safety and health, and wanted to visit Bury Council as part of work on his dissertation.
He was invited to the borough by Natasha Franklin, Bury Council environmental health officer, who, like Devnath, is studying at the University of Salford.
Natasha said: "Devnath has gone away with some examples of good practice. It would be nice to think there will be a little bit of Bury encouraging good working practices in the Caribbean!"
