ROSSENDALE and Pendle Mountain Rescue Team are urging hikers to get involved in a charity walk - Rossendale Way in a Day.
The 45-mile trek around the Rossendale Valley is an important date on the mountain rescue team's fund-raising calendar.
For those less enthusiastic about walking, the 22-mile Half-Way-in-a-Day is being staged.
In a unique twist to tradition, both routes will follow a clockwise direction, enabling well-seasoned 'half-wayers' to experience the opposite end of the trail.
Walkers and runners are welcome in the event, scheduled for Saturday, at the nominal entry fee of £10.
The mountain rescue team will be on hand all day providing food and drinks.
