A POLICE Constable who pleaded guilty to driving without due care and attention after a crash which left a man brain damaged, has been removed from traffic duties.
PC Andrew John Hatcher, from Leyland police, has been re-deployed to the geographic section following his appearance before Blackburn Magistrates this week, according to a police spokesman. He is also thought to be suspended from driving police vehicles. PC Hatcher was on the way to an emergency when he drove through a red light but failed to spot a Vauxhall Vectra.
Craig Tracey, a passenger in the Vectra was left with severe brain injuries. A police spokesman said PC Hatcher did not live in East Lancashire. PC Hatcher was fined £200 and given four penalty points.
