FOUR carjackers armed with a crowbar forced their way into a man's home in the Unsworth area of Bury last night and demanded his car keys.

The gang, who were all wearing balaclavas, knocked at the door of the house in St George's Road at around 10.45pm.

They pushed their way into the property, threatened the terrified owner and ordered him to hand over the keys to his black Seat Leon Cupra.

The vehicle, registration number MX03 VYN, has not yet been found.

Last month, two owners of high-powered sports cars in Horwich were targeted by carjackers within eight days of each other.

A 25-year-old man, from Westhoughton, was threatened with a machete by three masked men as he parked his £24,000 Mitsubishi Evolution at the Middlebrook Tavern, Horwich. Eight days earlier, a man was pinned to the floor and threatened with a hammer-like weapon in his own home after three carjackers who smashed his door down.

A silver Honda Civic Type-R parked at the front of the house was stolen.

Detectives are investigating possible links between the latest incident and any previously others in the region.
