A GROUP of 11 students from Fred Longworth High School will complete an astonishing 20 concerts in two days on July 12 and 13.
This amazing undertaking is all in aid of 'Children with Leukaemia'.
The group consists of Nick Garbett (Y11), Matthew Taylor (Y10), Daniel Swindells, Chris Turnbull, Sarah Gaskell (Y9), Chris Schofield (Y8) and Matthew Turnbull, Matthew Farrimond, Charlotte Garbett and John Gaskell (Y7).
Venues will include local primary schools, retirement homes and the streets of Tyldesley and Atherton.
The students will appear on Key 103 radio during next week when Fred Longworth is the 'School of the Week' on the breakfast show with Mike Toolan.
The project has been masterminded by Helen Robinson (music teacher) and Jill Aspray (Humanities teacher and trombonist) who run the brass group.
It will end an extremely busy time for the students involved who are also members of the Fred Longworth Community Brass Band who perform at a joint concert with Wardle Anderson Brass Band on Saturday July 3 in the school sports hall.
