QEGS pupil Richard carded an impressive 78 gross at Harwood in Bolton, to head a field of over 180, the largest-ever entry for a Lancashire schools golf competition.
When his handicap of 21 was deducted, Richard's net score was an unbeatable 57.
Teacher Andy Buckingham said: "Richard played superb golf on the day, hitting his tee shots straight and saving shots around the green with excellent chipping and putting.
"Because Harwood is much shorter than his home course at Pleasington, he was able to compensate for his lack
of distance with impressive accuracy right around the course."
Richard's success completes a fine individual double for QEGS golfers, as fellow pupil Ashley Johnston already holds the Lancashire SGA open net trophy.
And on Tuesday their team of three pairs won the northern region of the Independent Schools Golf Cup to reach the final for the first time.
QEGS will take on the other regional winners at the Walton Heath Club in Surrey on July 12 and 13.
