LEIGH Under 15's maintained their challenge at the top of the table with another decisive win, this time by 10 wickets at Norley Hall.
The home side chose to bat, but even though there were no early wickets, it was soon evident that Leigh's opening attack of Ross Shepherd and Andrew Thomason were in control, as only 10 runs came from the first five overs.
Wickets then fell in each of the next three, reducing Norley to 12 for 3. At the end of their five over spell, each bowler had conceded only 11 runs, Shepherd taking one wicket and Thomason two.
It was then time for Matthew Jackson to take centre stage for Leigh. Bowling in tandem with Alex Roussak, Jackson took five wickets for only 7 runs in 4 overs - a superb example of accurate bowling which effectively ended any possible resistance from the batting side. David Brandwood finished off the innings with two wickets in his single over at the end.
This was an excellent bowling performance by Leigh, which included 6 catches and a stumping, and could have been improved had a further three catches not been put down!
Openers Gary Fox and Alex Roussak then saw Leigh to a comfortable victory, ending undefeated on 28 and 23 respectively.
