STAFF at Asda in Radcliffe had stars in their eyes while raising money for charity.

Workers at the Pilkington Way supermarket swapped their uniforms for the spangly outfits of the pop and rock world and put on a show earlier this year.

The feat raised more than £1,720 for Derian House, a children's hospice in Chorley, where a staff member's daughter had been cared for before she died of cancer.

Jeanette Webb, events co-ordinator at the store, said: "It's great that we have managed to raise so much. The Stars in Their Eyes night was so successful that we are holding another one in November.

"We also asked Asda House for a donation and they gave us £400. Local businesses also gave us donations, along with some of the pubs in Radcliffe.
