A TRIO of charity motorcyclists have left Leigh on a 1,000 mile sponsored round Britain trip to help pensioners.
Freemasons in the Leigh Group of Lodges, Ken Shea, Peter Thompson and James Hough have headed off on a journey which will take them up to John O' Groats and down to Land's End before returning to Leigh.
The Group has chosen the Leigh Pensioners' Link to benefit from money raised this year.
Chairman Tony Bent waved off the riders from Leigh Masonic Hall.
He said: "This is another example of our involvement in the community. Earlier this month we were raising funds for hospices in West Lancashire when 17 members of the group took part in a sponsored walk."
