TYLDESLEYITES are set to clean up Shakerley Common this Saturday and Shakerley estate residents are invited to help out.
The Shakerley Community Partnership has the litter-strewn common off York Avenue in its sights and would like locals to 'muck in'.
Wigan Council's Township and Street Scene teams are providing skips and a helping hand while KMI Water and United Utilities, who have recently been working to improve the quality of water drainage systems in the area, will help residents clean up the brook and surrounding land.
The meeting point is Shakerley Common car park at 10.30am and Somerfield stores will provide free light refreshments to all volunteers.
