RE your mentioning of a plaque being put up in memory of the Accrington Pals, it's very nice to see that at least one town in East Lancashire does remember the County Regiment and the past members of it.
My town doesn't even want to remember the Victoria Cross holders of the regiment.
I expect that on July 4 at least the older members of the East Lancashire Regiment will "remember them" and mean it. I will.
