THREE people are fighting for their lives on Monday after a head-on car crash in Aspull.
The three casualties were in a Vauxhall Nova which crashed into a Ford Mondeo in Hall Lane just before midnight.
The driver and two passengers suffered serious injuries and were said to be in a life-threatening condition.
Two people from the Mondeo suffered minor cuts and bruises.
All the injured were taken to the Royal Bolton Hospital and Wigan Royal Infirmary.
An investigation has been launched into the cause of the crash.
A spokesman for Greater Manchester Police said: "No further details of the injured people are being released as next of kin are still being informed."
