ONCE you could sit on the step, listen to the radio and monitor if it was one of yours who put the ball through the window in the car free street.
Now its only safe to play football on the spare ground, parks and playing fields (if you can have local access) but that means tearing your eyes away from the TV and walking (or driving) to the venue in order to monitor your child's safety.
Yes indeed "fings ain't what they used to be." Parental involvement required.
