MARGO (LET, June 29) should know better than call the Inuit people Eskimos which means 'eaters of raw fish' and is rather insulting to them.
The differences that she notes are not so much cultural as economic.
She does not specify which animals provide the fur for fur coats, they may well be endangered species.
Regarding the Indians cutting grass with shears, surely it would be better for each man to have a day with the lawn mower and the rupees to be shared out.
Those not on duty could then stay at home and help look after the children.
Of course, it is nice to be cosy in a fur coat while some poor blighters are on their knees cutting grass.
