BLACKBURN Council gave the go ahead for a 20 per cent increase on the town's bus fares - despite an 11th hour bid by Labour councillors to block the increase at a council meeting.
The Labour group were defeated when the combined votes of the Tories and Liberals rushed the proposals through.
