TWO Bury Taikwon-Do Club members were successful when they represented Great Britain in the 2004 European Championships in Sofia, Bulgaria recently.
Felix Lopez, a Radcliffe-based podiatrist and Anthony Thomas, a student from Parkhills Road, Bury, took on opponents from Russia, the Czech Republic, Greece, France and Germany during the prestigious event.
Felix, who has been training for 15 years, won silver in the power test, just missing out on the gold medal after losing to the winners Russia.
He also won a bronze medal in the semi-final heavyweight fighting category.
The success ends a good year for Felix who won the British championship overall black belt award, with gold medals in the fighting and power categories and silver in the patern.
He also won silver medals for fighting in recent competitions in Ireland and Finland.
Anthony has also excelled, winning three bronze medals in the different disciplines in the under-17 year old category.
