BRIERFIELD Methodist Church is the rehearsal venue for Pendle Opera's next production - Bizet's The Pearl Fishers - which will be held on Thursday, August 26.
There are only four principal parts: Leila, the priestess of the god Brahma (soprano), Nadir (tenor) and Zurga (baritone) - the fishermen - and Nourabad, high priest of Brahma (bass).
The producer will be Steven Burrows, well known as a producer in the Pendle area, and the musical director John Sandlands, from West Yorkshire.
Audition pieces will be available from Sylvia Foster on (01282) 772941 and auditions for principal roles will be held on Thursday, September 8.

Title mystery
MYSTERY surrounds the title of Blackburn Drama Club's fourth play for next season.
But while the title and subject may not be known, talented actors are already being sought to take part in the production.
A reading to cast the new play will be on Tuesday August 3 at 7.30pm in the BDC rehearsal room at the Capita Performing Arts building next to The Thwaites Empire.
Young hopefuls
ANOTHER group seeking talented actors and actresses , albeit in the 10 to 17 year age group, is Brunshaw Action Group, which is looking to cast for its production The King And I.
Auditions will be held on July 25, August1 and August 8 at Brunshaw Youth Centre, Morse Street, Burnley between 2pm and 5pm.

REVIDGE Drama Group is having a play reading on Tuesday, July 27 at 7.30pm in the lounge at Revidge Fold United Reformed Church, Shear Brow, Blackburn. It is an enjoyable comedy to be produced by Therese Ball, for performance early in November 2004.
