I OVERHEARD this whilst waiting to cross the road. I was at a light-controlled crossing, others arrived, and a young lady in her twenties moved to the front of the group.
Seeing there was no traffic actually coming but with the lights still against crossing, she dashed across the road.
A lady in the group said out loud to everybody: "See, if she'd have got knocked down, she'd not have had a leg to stand on."
Many a true word!
