A HIGH speed police chase ended when a car careered out of control and smashed into a wall.
A 17-year-old from the Sunnybank area suffered a broken arm and a severe leg fracture in the crash during the early hours of Friday.
Police are now appealing for witnesses to the accident which happened in Manchester Road, close to its junction with Pilsworth Road, Bury.
Police saw a green Mercedes Coupe travelling at more than 100mph at about 2.20am along Manchester Road and tried to stop it. The car raced off with the police in pursuit before it hit the wall.
The road was closed for several hours as firefighters cut the teenager from the wreckage. He was taken to Fairfield General Hospital where he was detained.
