THE headteacher of St Mary's CE Primary in Hawkshaw said goodbye to staff and pupils to take up a new position...as the head of St Mary's CE Primary in Prestwich!
Mr Alan Scott has been at the village school since 1998, seeing pupil numbers grow from 74 to 108 and being the driving force behind an extension which doubled the school floor space.
He was also the chairman of the before and after school club and held the same position on the parent teachers' association.
He said: "The school has been very good to me over the last seven years and I have made lots of friends. I shall miss the staff, parents and governors but most of all the children. I wish everyone at the school all the very best for the future."
