LOCAL groups have a chance to become fully-fledged members of Prestwich Area Board at a special informal meeting on July 29.
The board is keen to hear from existing co-opted members and prospective members about how the community can be helped, what works well and what could be improved.
Councillor Vic D'Albert, area board chairman, said: "We value the commitment from co-opted members and we are keen to build closer links with them and the organisations they represent.
"Any local organisation who would like to sit on the board is encouraged to attend this informal get-together so they can talk about what they do, why they wish to sit on the area board and what benefits it would bring."
The meeting starts at 7.30pm in the Longfield Suite.
