ONCE again the Duke of Edinburgh has put his foot in it by upsetting a young disabled woman and all because her wheelchair just happened to get in his way.
He described her as a being 'bit of a menace' and said that the metal footrests caught people's ankles.
As usual a spokesman from Buckingham Palace put the matter straight by saying that the Duke really meant to say that an umbrella was the culprit and not the footrests.
When is the gaffe-prone Duke going to learn to engage his brain before opening his mouth and to show some respect for people's feelings?
L M JACKSON (Mrs), Haslingden Road, Blackburn.
