LEIGH Euro MP Terry Wynn is urging holidaymakers to check on the amount of duty free cigarettes they can take out of a country before returning home.
He says his office is already dealing with a number of cases in which people have had goods confiscated and heavy fines imposed.
Customs guidelines state that travellers can bring 3,200 cigarettes into the country for personal use, and this applies to all countries within the EU except Spain, where authorities only allow 800 out or up to 1200 with a receipt from an authorised retailer -- anything above is considered for commercial use.
