TWO rugby league favourites from the 50s, 60s, 70s and 80s have been inducted into the Leigh club's Hall of Fame.
At last Friday's Leigh Past Players 14th annual dinner in the Mick Martyn Lounge at Hilton Park the modest duo of Brian Fallon and Alf Wilkinson were honoured before an audience which included many distinguished figures from the rugby league world.
Fallon scored 628 points for Leigh in a career which spanned the years 1955-61. The half-back received his reward from Past Players' stalwart Bill Kindon.
Equally surprised at being elevated into the elite was powerful prop Alf Wilkinson who joined the club in 1973 from Leigh 'B' and was a member of the championship winning side of the 1980s. In a club career which ended in 1985, he represented Lancashire and Great Britain under 24s. he received his award from Mick Martyn.
