AN electrical fault was thought to be the cause of a blaze at a joinery business in Lower Darwen today.
Initial investigations by Darwen fire crews revealed the fire, which broke out at 9.40am in the motor room at F Avison and Sons, was due to a faulty extractor unit.
Speaking at the business in Branch Road, Assistant Divisional Officer Chris Waters, said: "The fire was contained to the motor room or it would have been much worse, as there is sawdust everywhere." The employees were due to return to work at 11am.
